Here you will find information about this office and resources on property and taxes here in Pleasants County. We are located on the main floor of the Courthouse in Room 103 and our office hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.
The mission of the Pleasants County Assessor’s Office is to assess all property, both real and personal, as accurately and fairly as possible. The main job of the office is to maintain fair values on all property in the county. Once the Assessor’s Office closes the books and the values are set for the year, the levying bodies (school board, county commission, cities of Belmont and Saint Marys, state of West Virginia, and any special levies) then set the tax rates to be applied.
My staff and I are here to address your concerns, and it is my hope that this website will serve to inform you and facilitate a better understanding and conversation about property and taxes here in our county.
